Erin phoned me last night in her usual 'people are so fucking stupid' mood. With one leg in the air from my most recent drinking injury, I really have to wonder why she depends on me for a 'normal' opinion.
So here it is:
Unprotected sex.
There. I said it.
Now, with all honesty, how many of you out there have had unprotected sex? I'm betting it's a large number. Society, schools, teachers, health class, etc. tells us unprotected sex is bad.
Honestly though? I see very little wrong with foregoing protection when you are in a serious, monogamous relationship.
I don't mean the pill, or depo or anything like that, I more meant condoms.
To be blunt here, I fucking hate condoms. I only see a need to use them if you are uncertain as to where the second party has been, so to speak. But even then, how many people have had drunken one night stands and just forgotten?
In actuality, condoms are only about 83% effective, after factoring in improper use.
But even as I write this, I am discussing it with Mr. X. He shined a light on a different side of it for me. For all you men out there, how much do you really trust your significant others? They tell you that they're on The Pill, or something to that effect, but is there a niggling little doubt in the back of your mind?
And how many girls out there have inadvertantly said yes to the question "are you on the pill?" when they really meant to say no?
Or you could take a different standpoint altogether. This one pertaining to my last entry. If something is meant to happen, there is nothing you can do to stop it. If you are meant to get pregnant, no condom in the world can protect you, and vice versa.
I read a book not to long ago, about a woman who was trying to concieve. She stated "Had I known it was this hard to get pregnant, I would have had more fun in high school". There is so much bullshit propaganda out there telling us one unprotected encounter will lead to an unwanted pregnancy. In actuality, for most people it is very difficult to get pregnant due to the mass amount of chemicals and hormones found in just about everything today. Now don't get me wrong. To all those impressionable minds out there, I may be completely ass backwards so don't go testing my theory.
But to all you childless, unprotected sex having people out there, you know what I'm talking about.
